Where can I create myMovieMaker DVDs? Can I create a myMovieMaker DVD at home? myMovieMaker is currently only offered through Wal-Mart in-store kiosks. However, due to public interest, we are developing an online application of myMovieMaker that will allow users to create DVDs in the convenience of their homes. What are the differences between Gold and Silver themed storyboards? Silver storyboards hold 40 photos, have one background throughout and a set soundtrack. How long will my finished movie be? A movie with a full 40 photos lasts about 7 minutes. The slideshows with 100 photos are up to five and a half minutes. Can I add musical soundtracks to my movie besides those I am offered? Currently, only those seen have been licensed for use in movies. However, future versions of myMovieMaker will include license to popular music. Please click here to write us your music suggestions/requests. Will there be new storyboard themes? Every few months, new storyboards are added to the kiosks, usually to correspond with the season. Yes, but only at the time of creation. Because myMovieMaker DVDs are copyrighted material and we don't keep your movie on file, all copies must be ordered at the same time. How much does it cost to order extra copies? You may add extra copies to your order for $9.99 a copy. Wal-Mart reserves the right to reject movies that contain objectionable images, generally those not appropriate for prime-time television. Objectionable images include, but are not limited to, depictions of undue cruelty or racism, or that are sexually explicit in nature. Why do I see a photo or two repeated in my movie? You selected fewer photos than the storyboard’s capacity. Each movie has opening scenes that requires a minimum of 15 to 20 photos. Filling your movie with the maximum photos (40) will prevent photos repeating when a scene requires more photos than you have provided. What do the little notes in the corners of the music icons mean? They indicate relative speed of the music–slow, medium, or fast. What DVD players will the DVDs play on? Your finished DVD will run on most, if not all DVD players. What if I leave an empty slot in my photos? Will there be a hole in my movie? No. All subsequent photos will be shifted to fill the spot. (However, this may mean you have one less photo in your movie than you expect.) How many photos will movies take? Gold and Silver movies take up to 40 photos. The 4 Gold slideshows take up to 100 photos. Does myMovieMaker allow me to add videos? The underlying software used to make aVinci movies supports putting video clips in movies, but we don't currently make that feature available on the kiosks. There are complexities that need to be dealt with, since video clips can be potentially very large in length and file size, to the point of overwhelming internet connections and the storyboards, producing less than pleasing results. What image file formats can I put in a movie? JPG, GIF, BMP, and PNG. Can I add the same photo multiple times to the same movie? Yes, for example, if you want to start your movie with a specific photo you can use again later in your movie. |
